Byron & Ingea love story in the making
A few chapters, a lot of love, and a story that led us here.
How We Met
It all started, kind of.
Back in 2012, Byron first noticed Inge at the gym. Taking his chance, he asked for her BBM pin. Inge's answer was a polite "no thanks."
A few years later, in 2015, our paths crossed again in Margate, KZN. That summer brought unexpected laughs and a lot of chemistry, before life pulled us in different directions once more.
Until December 2016.
How It All Changed
That December, everything shifted. We spent nearly the entire month together, and what had once felt effortless and light revealed itself to be something deeper.
On 18 February 2017, we officially became Byron & Inge.
What followed were three years of long distance, between Stellenbosch and Pretoria, with flights and phone calls, weekends counted down and moments treasured. It was not always easy, but it was always certain.
In 2019, Byron moved to Cape Town and we finally began the chapter we had been working toward all along.
The Proposal
Before the next chapter began, the one that would carry us all the way to the Netherlands, Byron had one more surprise planned.
With the help of family, the proposal was woven together with quiet intention. Behind the scenes, Byron had been carefully planning each detail, including a meaningful conversation with Inge's father.
What began as a plan to see The Nutcracker, with a wine estate lunch before the show and what seemed to be a girls' day, turned into something far more meaningful. When Inge arrived, she was handed a bouquet of flowers and a letter, and then taken by golf cart to a quiet spot on the estate, where Byron was standing patiently, waiting for her. In that still, unforgettable moment, everything changed.
He asked. She said yes.
And now we find ourselves building a life together in the Netherlands, travelling and experiencing things we never imagined we would one day call our own.
